sustainable bags

For my graduation project, I designed a collection of bags made entirely from repurposed materials: inflatable pool rings, air mattresses, old banners all found at local thrift stores. My process starts with the materials themselves. What I find shapes what I make.

The collection is a playful yet conscious response to waste.

I even transformed old Thuisbezorgd delivery bags into something completely new the original branding is still faintly visible, but the identity has shifted. It’s familiar, yet clearly no longer what it was.

I wanted the collection to feel inspiring, both in form and in material. It invites people to look differently at what we throw away. At the same time, I challenged myself by learning to sew different bag shapes and construction techniques not repeating a single model, but growing through variation. Learning a new skill or method is always central to my process.

This project is about sustainability, curiosity, and the creative potential of overlooked materials.
